How the calculation works

The percentage change is (new unit price − previous unit price) ÷ previous unit price × 100. Monthly impact multiplies the unit-price difference by the number of seats. Annual impact multiplies that monthly change by 12.

Example: a move from $20 to $25 per seat across 15 seats is a 25% increase. The budget rises by $75 per month or $900 per year, producing a new annual spend of $4,500.

What this estimate includes

  • One monthly unit price applied to every billed seat
  • Percentage change at the unit-price level
  • Monthly and 12-month budget change
  • A decrease or no-change scenario as well as an increase

Use the estimate responsibly

What it does not model

This is a planning estimate, not a vendor quote. It does not include taxes, exchange rates, negotiated discounts, contract minimums, prorating, tiered volume pricing, usage overages, implementation fees, or changes in seat count. For annual contracts billed at a different effective monthly rate, use that contracted monthly equivalent.

Check the source record

A budget estimate is more useful when the underlying price is current. TierDrift pairs normalized SaaS plans with source links, observation dates, and an append-only pricing record.
